Why Overlay SPX GEX on ES Futures Charts?

SPX options are the most liquid index options market in the world. They're where the gamma is. But ES futures (E-mini S&P 500) are what professional traders actually trade — tighter spreads, nearly 24-hour liquidity, and better leverage. The problem has always been: GEX data lives in SPX options, but price action lives in ES futures.

Our SPX GEX to ES overlay bridges this gap. We compute all gamma levels (Call Wall, Put Wall, Gamma Flip, Max Pain, Zero Gamma) from SPX options data, then project them onto ES futures price coordinates using a daily anchor calibrated to the 4:00 PM ET close. The result: you see exactly where dealer gamma walls sit on the same chart you're trading.

ES Candlestick Chart

Real-time ES futures price action with volume-weighted K-lines (vw500, vw1000, vw2000, vw3000) plus standard 1m/5m intervals.

GEX Level Lines

Call Wall, Put Wall, Gamma Flip, Max Pain, and HVL plotted as horizontal lines on the ES chart. Updated every minute from live SPX options data.

Daily Anchor Precision

SPX-to-ES price mapping anchored at each trading day's 4:00 PM ET close. Ensures GEX levels maintain accurate relative positioning throughout the session.

Trade SPX Gamma on ES

No need to trade SPX options to use GEX data. Execute on ES futures with gamma-informed entries and exits. Use the Gamma Flip as your intraday bias filter.

This feature is designed for ES day traders who want options flow intelligence without switching between platforms. Instead of monitoring GEX on one screen and trading ES on another, you see gamma walls, flip levels, and dealer positioning directly on your ES futures chart — one chart, all the data.

Key Options & GEX Concepts Explained

Gamma Exposure (GEX) — Defined

Gamma Exposure (GEX) is the total dollar value of gamma risk held by options market makers across all strikes. When GEX is positive, dealer hedging stabilizes prices (buy dips, sell rips). When GEX is negative, dealer hedging amplifies trends (sell into weakness, buy into strength). GEX is measured in dollars per 1% move of the underlying.

Call Wall & Put Wall — Defined

The Call Wall is the strike price with the largest call gamma — it acts as a resistance level where dealers sell into strength. The Put Wall is the strike with the largest put gamma — it acts as a support level where dealers buy dips. These walls are the market's built-in range boundaries derived from options positioning.

Gamma Flip (Zero Gamma) — Defined

The Gamma Flip is the price level where net gamma crosses from positive to negative. Above the Gamma Flip, dealers are long gamma (market stabilizing). Below the Gamma Flip, dealers are short gamma (market amplifying). It is the single most important intraday level for determining directional bias, especially on 0DTE expiration days.

Vanna & Charm — Defined

Vanna measures how an option's Delta changes when implied volatility moves — it captures the spot-volatility correlation effect. Charm measures how Delta changes as time passes — it captures time-decay-driven hedging flows. Both are second-order Greeks critical for understanding intraday dealer flow dynamics beyond first-order Gamma.

Max Pain — Defined

Max Pain is the strike price at which the total value of all outstanding options (calls + puts) would expire worthless. Market makers, who are net option sellers, profit most when price settles at Max Pain at expiration. Price tends to gravitate toward Max Pain as expiration approaches, making it a reliable mean-reversion reference level.

Common Questions

What makes this option calculator different from free tools?

Free options calculators compute basic Greeks. Our platform adds real-time Gamma Exposure (GEX) data — showing aggregate dealer positioning that drives intraday market moves. You see not just what an option is worth, but where the market is likely headed based on gamma dynamics.

Which markets are covered?

GEX analytics cover SPX (S&P 500 Index), SPY (S&P 500 ETF), and QQQ (Nasdaq-100 ETF) options — the most liquid options markets in the world. Our US Stocks module extends coverage to individual equity options with earnings calendar and scanner tools.

Do I need a credit card for the free trial?

No. The 7-day free trial requires only an email address. You get full access to all features — GEX dashboard, profit calculator, replay, and scanner. Cancel anytime with no obligation.

How often does the data update?

GEX data refreshes continuously during US market hours (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET). The dashboard updates in near-real-time, so you always see the latest gamma positioning.

Can I use this on mobile?

Yes. The entire platform is responsive and works on any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile. Premium plans support multiple concurrent devices.
